Sad news about BSAA founder

The BSAA is sad to announce that our founder, Robert (Bob) Lambrix BHS'1957, died on August 26, 2026 at age 86.

He was born on November 23, 1939, in Lancaster, New York, son of Donald and Sabina (Sellers) Lambrix. After graduating from BHS, he attended Colgate University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, followed by a master’s degree from Rutgers University. In 2007, Robert was inducted into the Brighton Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to his community. He founded the Brighton Schools Alumni Association (BSAA) and established the Robert Lambrix Scholarship to support college-bound students. Through these efforts, he helped promote education and encourage community involvement among Brighton students.

Robert began his long and successful career in finance with Armco Steel in Middletown, Ohio. He later became senior vice president and chief financial officer of Baxter International in Deerfield, Illinois.

Robert was an avid reader and enjoyed staying active. He especially enjoyed exercising and playing tennis.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Ashley) Lambrix and Chantal (Andy Kralovec) Lambrix; his grandson, Hunter; and his granddaughter, Wesley; his siblings, Susan Farrell, Sabina (Jon) Hunter, Donald (Wendy) Lambrix, and John (Rebekah) Lambrix; his best friend, Linda Betrand; the mother of his children, Paula Nickell; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 601 Edgewood Ave., Rochester, NY. After the mass, family and friends are invited to a reception and luncheon at Oak Hill Country Club.
