Applications are now open for the 2019 BSAA Scholarship! Deadline: March 8, 2018
About the Scholarship
The 2018 Brighton Schools Alumni Association (BSAA) Scholarship is open for applications from college-bound seniors at Brighton High School (BHS) in Rochester, NY, who will graduate in the spring of 2018. Thanks to the generosity of BHS alumni and supporters, the BSAA has increased the scholarship from $1,500 to $2,500 per year to be used for college textbooks or other required academic materials. The award will be renewed for three additional years — as long as the recipient remains in college on a full-time basis. Applications are available at the BHS guidance office and below. The deadline is March 9, 2018.
•The applicant must be a college-bound graduating senior at Brighton High School in Rochester, NY, with a grade point average of at least 3.0. •This is a need-based award. •The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited two- or four-year educational institution.
Five finalists will be selected from the applicants by a panel that includes two BSAA Scholarship Committee members, three BHS faculty members and one student. Finalists will be notified in March, and interviews will take place at the high school shortly thereafter, before Spring Break. The final decision will be based on the student’s need, extracurricular and community activities, essay, and interview.
